Sonelite Inc San Diego, CA

AeroHydroPLUS division 2010 – present

Principal consultant in aero-acoustics and vibro-acoustics. Sample engagements include:

• CD-adapco / Daimler AG – Development of STAR-CCM+ to predict automobile interior wind noise.

• Ford – Development of CFD-based design process for open window throb (buffet) noise control

• Chrysler / FIAT - Development of CFD-based process to design for auto interior wind noise

• Pilatus Aircraft – Interior acoustic design consultant for new PC-24 utility business jet.

Sonelite Inc San Diego, CA

Consultant-in-residence, ATA Engineering Inc. (Part-time) 2004 – present

Retainer contract as Senior Technical Consultant and Business Development Consultant:

• Principal external aero-acoustic loads consultant to NASA Constellation program

• CFD-based aero-vibro-acoustics consultant to Air Force Hypersonic Flight Vehicles project

• NESC-funded review of NASA’s uncertainty margins process for aero- and vibro-acoustics

• Interior acoustics design consultant for Eclipse VLJ, PiperJet and VH-71 President’s Helicopter.

CEO North America & Director, Vibro-acoustics Product 2002 – 2003

After the sale of Bremner’s Vibro-Acoustic Sciences (VASci) business to ESI Group, he took an

expanded leadership role, responsible for merging the former VASci and ESI software businesses.

• delivered ESI vision message to key clients & integrated business units, retaining all key personnel

• achieved over $1million net revenue growth within the first year, despite difficult economic climate.

• secured Air Force Ph.2 SBIR funding to complete “robust (statistical) engineering” capability in core

vibro-acoustics software product VA One (formerly AutoSEA)

Vibro-Acoustic Sciences Inc (VASci) San Diego, CA

CEO 1991 – 2002

Co-founder of company developing physics simulation software for acoustic design. By 2001, VASci’s

vibro-acoustics software product was adopted by nearly every automotive and aerospace company,

worldwide. Achievements include:

• principal architect of company’s vibro-acoustic simulation software product AutoSEA (now VA One

from ESI Group)

• Coordinated a consortium for development of hybrid FE-SEA methods for mid-frequency vibroacoustics,

that included Boeing, NASA, United Technologies, Honda, Ford and General Motors

• built a sales & support organization, with 3 US offices and 20 international sales representatives

• grew revenues at CAGR of 30% annually, to become dominant player in the global market niche

• in September 2002, sold software business to French public company ESI Group

VIPAC Engineers & Scientists Ltd. Sydney, Australia

General Manager 1987 – 1990

Appointed as turnaround manager for Sydney office of an engineering services company

• launched I-DEAS software sales business, securing $2million ADI contract in the first year

• attracted NSW government funding to establish Australia’s first commercial space test center

• increased branch revenues 300% over three years
